Shoe
(Apparel)
These Turkish men's shoes have soles made from laminated sheets of leather. The upper parts are of cloth, highly decorated with embroidery and sequins. The shoe is from the collection of George Allan of Darlington, who died in 1800. Foreign shoes were popular among 18th Century collectors, and George Allan had several pairs.
