1 in 48 scale model of the liner 'Madonna', built by Swan Hunter and Wigham Richardson at Wallsend on the River Tyne in 1905. ss 'Madonna' carried thousands of hopeful emigrants from Europe to New York. She was owned by the French Fabre Line. She had room for 54 first class and 1,650 third class passengers. Later, 60 second class berths were added. From 1927 she was used on the West Africa service, before being scrapped in 1934.
