Visual Search
The visual search on this page uses a flash drawing tool to allow you to draw a picture and search for images in the IMAGINE database that look similar to your drawing.

How does this work?
The visual search takes your drawing as a starting point and simplifies it. It uses the shapes and the colour tones in your image to find other images in the database that have similar shapes or tones. This explains why some drawings can produce really strange results.
The visual search is not meant to be an accurate search tool. It is a way of exploring the IMAGINE collections in a different and unexpected way.
